  • Adam is RDC’s Swiss Army Knife. He is an experienced brand and UX designer. Among many of his projects, he led the development of the City of Lethbridge brand and manages RDC’s work with several key clients including UBC and the Tahltan Central Government. Adam is always focused and in control. Details don’t escape him. He’s the one we turn to for calm, rational thinking in a crisis.

In addition to his other work at RDC, Adam is also an outstanding photographer and has provided beautiful image making for a diverse range of RDC’s international clients.

  • How did you get into the field of graphic design?

I've always had an interest in branding and design, but music was my main window in thinking about it as a possible career. The detailed vector illustrations and photo manipulation found on album art and merch from the early 2000s metalcore and pop-punk scene were a large inspiration and a tangible pursuit in highschool as a side gig.

Tell us about a book you read recently?

Just finished reading Orwell's Homage to Catalonia that I picked up from the now closed "Y's Books" on Main Street. In this, Orwell recalls his personal experience fighting in the Spanish Civil War and balances between the detailed and nuanced political situation in Spain, international views, and his own personal experiences spent on the front line, in cities and hospitals. It's a great read and despite it being written in 1938 (along with its companion, Looking Back on the Spanish War, 1942), much of his takeaways are still relevant today.

Do you take notes on a tablet, notebook, or napkin?

I really try to be an analogue notetaker but in reality the convenience of a digital online tool is too much for me to give up. Too often I forget to bring a notebook with me, have too many for different ideas or have a need to reorganize everything. Recently I've found a balance of combining a written daily and monthly to-do lists with Milanote has been perfect.

Adam’s Next Goal

Get outside and explore more, in and out of the city. Influenced by more time at home the last couple years, I've been looking back and noticing a lot of my hobbies leave me in front of my computer, which could be better balanced. Goal for the summer is to find that balance and having just come back from a road trip on the coast I think I'm on the right track.
